Here Is the Lens Brand I Use to Shoot Weddings.
As a Michigan wedding photographer, I am often asked by wedding guests what type of lenses I recommend. Personally I prefer using Nikon for all my lenses. My camera bag consists of several different focal lengths.
Prime lenses are my favorites for shooting formals. This type of lens is much sharper than any zoom lens. They are less convenient then a zoom lens. Most amateur photographers dislike using prime lenses.
Zoom lenses are perfect for my photojournalistic style. It allows me to capture moments that I would miss with a prime lens. Being able to crop in camera, by zooming in, gives me the freedom to work behind the scenes. This type of lens is the only one I take on vacations. Much more convenient compared to bringing several prime lenses.
Their are some off brand lenses that are available for Nikon bodies too. However, these lenses (Sigma and Tamron) are not as sharp compared to Nikons.
